This is a great player if you want to stay in this price range around 0.00.It has a great picture on my LCD tv,and the sound is really good to,it has one heck of a zoom feature on it that I was impressed with and usally zoom means nothing to me but this one is really cool.If you want simple to hook up with barely having to glance at a instrual manual this is the one, seriously just plug it in spend maybe 3 or 4min. with the manual and you will never need it again, some people prefer more complicated dvd player I am maybe one of them, but if you prefer simple you cant go wrong with this 720p/1080i up converting dvd player.I only give it 4 stars for the lack of menu options otherwise(picture and sound) its a 5 star.Great buy

Mintek MDP-1760 7-Inch Portable DVD Player

Mintek MDP-1760 7-Inch Portable DVD Player Review

*****
For the money, this DVD player is very nice---note that it is more than just a player---it is a kit! It comes with all accessories, cords, batteries, etc. so you only need to spend the purchase price. This was nice for me because I would have no idea which accessories to buy. It even comes with 2 headsets and a Y adapter!

Many functions run off of the player itself, and the rest off the remote. The fast forward and fast backward are only on the remote not the player, but the chapter forward and backward are on the player. I am satisfied with how things are set up. It is the first DVD player I've ever had, and I think it makes an excellent entry-level player. I really wanted to buy something sturdy but inexpensive, and this one fit the bill; I have heard other reviewers of other DVDs complain about what is on the remote and what is on the player, but I'm not picky.

One fun feature it has is the fast forward and backward multiply each time you hit it (first time is 2X, second time is 4X, etc.---all the way up to 16X). I like this because with the subtitles on, I can fast forward through boring parts of DVDs and still quickly read what, if anything, is going on.

It has many more features than I would ever use. The picture quality looks great to me. The battery life is supposed to be 3 hours, and so far, that seems about right.

I would recommend this DVD player kit for families with children (who will be hard on the player, so you wouldn't want to spend a fortune on it!) and entry-level purchasers.

SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Pink)

SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Pink) Review

Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

I bought this MP3 player for my 5 year old daughter last year. This is a great alternative to the Ipod which is a bit pricey. I did not want to spend much money on this since she is so young. It has lasted for over a year now and is in great shape. she listens to this all the time. The 4GB is more than enough storage for the music - right now she only has about 150 songs on it and that is only taking up a fraction of the storage. It's very easy to add songs to it using Windows Media Player (drag and drop). It's just as easy to remove the songs. The reason i give this 4 stars is because of the lack of accessories you can buy for it. i searched high and low for an external speaker for it and came up with the iHOME portable one. It doesn't have the greatest sound quality but it's good enough for her to listen to in her room at a reasonable volume. I also don't like how you have to charge the player through a usb on the computer. I wish it had come with a wall charger. Other than that, i absolutely love this music player. It shows album artwork, stores pictures and even plays the radio! It's great and definitely worth the money - especially if you're in the market for younger kids.

Zenith DVB412 Ultra-Slim Progressive-Scan DVD Player Specifications

Zenith's ultraslim DVB412 is a jack-of-all-trades entertainment device, spinning commercial DVDs, homemade DVDs and VCDs, as well as music and image discs. Now you can enjoy your custom MP3 and WMA music mixes and personal slideshows from JPEG image CDs whether your DVB412 is hooked up in your office, bedroom, or living room.

From a video standpoint, the DVB412 is equipped to deliver the full potential of your commercial DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.

A single set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver, and the player's 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog audio converter ensures optimum sound decoding of all disc formats.

If you don't have a surround receiver or 6-channel speaker setup, you can still make every movie night the ultimate experience: the player simulates surround sound through 2 speakers (even the stereo speakers on your TV).

Other features include CD-ROM-upgradeable firmware (for compatibility with future formats and features), full-motion picture zoom (4x, 16x), random and repeat playback, closed-caption support, and accommodation for interactive story (and multi-story) DVD programs.

What's in the Box
DVD player, S-video cable, composite-video/stereo analog RCA interconnect, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, user's guide, registration card, and a warranty card.

Jwin JD-VD736 Portable 3.6-Inch DVD Player Review

Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

I haven't got to use this like I was hoping too but from just the little we have used it, it is as advertised. My daughter used it on a recent trip to the hospital and while I was in test all day it kept her occupied. Only trouble was finding seating to keep it plugged in. The batteries truly only did work for about 2 hours or one movie. I like that now when I get the chance I can plug it up to the little TV in my computer room and watch a movie on the TV. The TV is one of those all in one with VHS player that bit the dust long ago and since the TV part works great I'm just too cheap to replace right now. But I tried this and it works great as a DVD player. Can't wait to try out some of the other features, like playing CD's or picture CD's especially at work when I'm shoved away in my little hole.

Jwin JD-VD736 Portable 3.6-Inch DVD Player Feature

Coby TF-DVD7100 Portable DVD Player

Coby TF-DVD7100 Portable DVD Player Review

Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

Ok, First let me say i did not purchase this item online. I was at the mall and sam goody was going out of business and everything was 50-60% off! This lil beauty cost me 70 bucks and thats with tax! I got my moneys worth in the first week i had it. My son is 2 and completely obsessed with spongebob. There are occasions when we take him out and he acts 2 and all we do is pull this out, pop in the spongebob dvd and hes content and quiet. Even going to the doctors office or a restaurant ( like chilis, etc..) we can take it and its not a noise issue. It can be quiet enough to not bother people. and they would rather hear spongebob with their meal or in a waiting room rather a screaming 2 year old throwing a fit. Besides the fact it keeps our kiddo happy, the VAST accessories that come with it are enough. The a/v cables, the headphones, REMOTE, and car and home charger. WALMART has nothing on this. The cheapest model at walmart is 79.99 and it isnt as nice as this and doesnt have half the accessories.

If you have kids or you take alot of road trips, i really reccomend this. It has been more of a necessity to me then a luxury .

Hope this helps you guys.

Samsung DVD-M201 DVD Player

Samsung DVD-M201 DVD Player Review

Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

I bought this player on a recommendation and am very pleased with my purchase. Although it depends on your criteria, I think this is a very good buy.

I don't have an amazing entertainment system. I cannot judge its capabilities in that area (although there is an obvious improvement over video). I wanted a DVD player because I am a movie buff and I love the extras. And that's what I got. It is easy and hasn't given me any problems.

The only thing (and this goes for all DVD players, I found out) is that you might require another piece of equipment before you can get it to work. Look at the back of your TV. If you only have one antenna spot, you need to buy an RF modulator too. Just a little tip that I didn't know about.

In summary, I would recommend this player. Be warned, though, because it causes a hysteria where you feel you must watch WAY too many movies!

Samsung DVD-M201 DVD Player Feature

• Dolby Digital and DTS output
• Coaxial and optical digital-audio outputs
• Component and S-video outputs
• Onscreen display
• CD-R-compatible dual-laser diode pickup

Samsung DVD-M201 DVD Player Overview

The Samsung DVD-M201 DVD player is an affordably priced model that features state-of-the-art composite-video outputs, a slim design, and a dual-laser pickup. The dual-laser design, which employs separate laser diodes for DVD and CD playback, enhances video and audio quality and extends format compatibility to CD-Rs and CD-RWs. The player's Spatializer N-2-2 sound circuit simulates surround sound through your TV or stereo speakers, while its 96-kHz/24-bit audio converters deliver pristine audio quality from DVDs and CDs. The back-panel Toslink optical and RCA coaxial terminals each pass a 96-kHz/24-bit audio stream for use with the latest high-end audio recordings (though be aware that your receiver must be able to decode your 96 kHz recordings if you use a digital connection there). The DVD-M201 includes left/right analog-audio outputs for compatibility with Dolby Pro Logic receivers and, in case you don't have a receiver yet, TV inputs. This unit also supports both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel formats through its digital outputs for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver or an external digital-to-analog converter (DAC). In the video realm, the M201's 10-bit video DAC ensures precision playback of high-resolution DVD signals. Analog video components are also selected to optimize performance. Composite video output terminals provide the optimum connection between the DVD-M201 and an advanced direct-view or projection TV system. The unit also offers standard component- and S-video outputs.

Olympus ME-51S Stereo Microphone

Olympus ME-51S Stereo Microphone Review

Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

I connect the ME-51S to an Olympus DS-2400 Dictation recorder (142015) and put it in the middle of a conference table - having two active recording heads, perpendicular to the plane of the recorder, it records both sides of the table quite well. You can plug it directly into the top of the recorder, or connect it via an extension cable. It also includes a removable clip, but it is not "noise canceling", so don't plan to wear this on your lapel while recording. It works best if the recorder is in Conference mode when you use this mic.

I used to own the Audiovox DVD Player. I got rid of it and bought this RCA DVD player. I took it to picnics, short trips and to a rock and roll concert. I never had a problem with it. The audiovox always kept stopping and had problems with it. I just need to find an adapter for my car and I will start taking the RCA DVD player on long trips. I will recomend it to anyone, I have hooked it up to TV's and a stereo. I bought an adapter to allow me to hook it up to tv's with only a coax input. Worked great. Nothing fancy, but does the job. I hope you enjoy it.

Archos AV500 100 GB Multimedia Player and DVR

Archos AV500 100 GB Multimedia Player and DVR Review

Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

I got one for my daughter about 10 months ago for photo storage while traveling. It worked just great until 2 days before she had to fly to Italy. Photo download is almost automatic if using a flash card reader and a mini-USB plug. I ended up getting an Archos 604 wifi for her trip ( a really neat unit but everything is extra- no built-in mini-USBs, no A/V jacks, no AC charger, but a trippy touchscreen and 30GB is a LOT of room= about 1000 photos + 400 songs + 12 movies, and still less than 1/3 full), while sending the AV500 in for warranty repair. The AV500 had a squashed 100GB drive from a swollen THICK battery- stay away from these batteries. ONLY Archos can replace the hard drives- has to do with HDD/firmware serial numbers. I just got it back after 2 weeks and the drive was replaced with a 120GB drive, but the right button worked intermittently (I opened it up and cleaned the contacts on the circuit (film) board = now OK. DO NOT do this if you have any warranty left- send it in. There are plenty of horror stories about warranty work quality, but they did right by me- this time! Video quality is perfect for me- great contrast, good resolution for my dvdfa3 480x272 vob-avi converted files. Audio playback/volume is outstanding (for me). The one tiny speaker is a joke.I haven't tried any video camera recording, so can't say yea or nay. I like it! It's a little bit thicker than the new Archos stuff, but you get everything in one small box!
