This recorder has many features of more advanced models
- you can play faster or slower than normal speed
- you can append to an existing message
- you can adjust the mic. sensitivity
- you can lock the unit to prevent it from accidentally turning on
- you can play MP3s
I'm not listing them all. A feature that Olympus models don't seem to have is that it functions as a thumb drive as well - you can store any files you want on it! You don't need batteries installed to down or up load files. The voice quality is good for the price.
However, SAVE YOUR RECEIPT. My unit, as much as I loved it, died after 6 weeks of use. You have a 1 year warranty but you have to have the receipt to get a replacement. I also did not like that it was only 64MB. As cheap as memory is today, it should be at least 128 or 256 MB (most recorders in this price range seem to have the same small amount of memory)
