I received the Flip UltraHD as a gift recently, so I will share what I have learned so far. It has 2 hours of recording time, I have not maxed out the time between downloading it to the computer. Downloading is easy, just pop the built in plug into a USB slot and you are good to go, no cord to look for. It also has a HDMI output so you can hook it up to a high definition TV. Now having said that, the camera only has a 2x zoom, and using the zoom at all does deteriorate the picture. For me, I use the camera for filming family around the house, but if I filmed my sons football game, I would use a camera with a real zoom. This Flip is for the close up every day life you want to preserve. It has a decent size screen built in, larger than the screen on the first Flip which my friend has, and the size of the unit is large. In my case, the picture did not look that different. If I was buying one for myself, I would take a look to see if the first Flip is cheaper, abut I hear it uses the battery faster. The one I have has a rechargable battery, but you can also pop in AA batteries if you prefer. My digital still camera uses those special disposable camera batteries, and they are a rip-off at and don't seem to last but a few weeks. But it is still small enough to fit in my back pocket. Using the device is pretty intuitive, not an overload of controls and buttons, and any kid could operate it. For the size and the price, I think it is a pretty good gadget. But I can imagine in two years what they will have.

In installed the card on a new, fairly standard Vista Home (32-bit) system, the card was recognized, drivers installed. I did not bother with WinTV; Windows Media Center works very well for me, and is fully compatible with this tuner.

At first I was using it to tune analog cable, and it worked fine for that purpose. I was satisfied that the picture was as good as analog could be, but of course I was pining for HD.

Our local cable provider charged far too much money to provide access to local channels in HD, which is all I really wanted, so I installed an outdoor antenna for over-the-air reception. Even an indoor antenna worked reasonably well, but with some dropouts. With the outdoor antenna, I get solid HD reception along with the extra sub-channels found on some broadcasters (especially PBS). The cost of the antenna and installation was about the same as 8 months of digital cable, so it's paid for.

Because there are two TV inputs (one for analog, one for HD) you might be tempted to use a passive splitter to use the same signal for both, and perhaps for other devices. I recommend that you avoid/minimize splitting because it greatly reduces the signal, or get an active splitter, one that requires electricity to power amplifiers that prevent loss from splitting.

I have since upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit, and this card works perfectly with that Windows Media Center on that system. I have never tried using digital cable with this card, but I understand that it is supported in Windows 7, but not Windows Vista, at least not the original release.

I got this card maybe 18-24 months ago and it continues to work flawlessly.

I gave "Features" only four stars because I wish there was an FM tuner on this card, like there are on some others.

I originally purchased this card in 2008 as a capture card to convert a collection of French SECAM video tapes to DVD. The software bundled with the card wasn't up to it, but I was able to complete the task nicely with the help of PowerDirector 6 and Pinnacle Studio 12. The quality of the video captures is only limited by the VCR's output.

Last week, I moved the card to my home theater PC, which is running Windows 7. The card works beautifully with Windows Media Center, as does the remote. I am getting HD broadcasts from San Francisco in Silicon Valley. The ATSC tuner found twice as many channels as other tuners I owned. I am dumping my Dish 722 DVR to cut on monthly expenses, as I was mostly watching and recording ATSC OTA channels with it anyway, and very few shows from other channels. In the process I'm saving + a month, so the card pays for itself in only a few months (if you already have a home-theater PC as I do, of course). I may upgrade to the 2250 dual-tuner card later when money isn't as tight.
